The Owasso Soccer Club is pleased to now offer soccer for 4 year olds. The U5 program is intended to be a fun experience where young players are exposed to soccer basics in a non-competitive atmosphere via training sessions and scrimmages. Score is not kept and there are no Referees. Parent involvement is mandatory.

U5 PROGRAM - LOTS OF NEW CHANGES SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

1. Squads will be formed before the season begins, will consist of 5-6 players, and will have one Parent Coach in place before the season begins as well. If you are willing to Coach a team in this bracket, now is the time to let us know by indicating the interest on your child’s registration form.
2. These teams will have set game schedule that will be released by February 25th. The 1st 30 minutes of the session each team will participate in the activities that were provided to the Coach earlier in the week by our Clubs Head Coach. The last 30 minutes will consist of a game/scrimmage against the scheduled opposing team.
3. Sessions remain on Saturday, duration still 1 hour total.
4. Beginning of session - 30 minutes of individual team basic skills and drills (Equipment such as goals & flags are provided by the Club)
5. End of session - 30 minutes scrimmage - Squad vs Squad (4) 6 minute quarters playing 3v3.
6. Uniforms will be up to each team’s discretion.
7. The Head Coach will provide training material to the Coaches at the beginning of each week that will be used for the session activities.
8. No scores kept. No standings. This is merely to get players introduced to the wonderful game of soccer and begin learning the basic fundamentals of the game.
9. Keep in mind this program is intended to be a fun experience where young players are exposed to soccer basics in a non-competitive atmosphere via training sessions and scrimmages.
10. Each player must bring a size 3 ball to each session, a bottle of water, & is REQUIRED to wear shin guards. Cleats are not mandatory.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT IS MANDATORY

Registration is $65

Players must be 4 years old by January 31 to be eligible for the Spring season.
Players must be 4 years old by July 31 to be eligible for the Fall season.

Most coaches are parents that return season after season, however we are always looking for those willing to help kids develop a love for the game of soccer.
