We are in the process of completing Fall Soccer
Sign-ups. At this time general
registration is open but a late fee of $50 will apply to the $75.00, unless we
need players to complete a specific team/roster. OSC must have all our players and team’s information
submitted to Green Country and OK Soccer Assoc., for team formations and
scheduling to meet the deadlines set for all soccer clubs in Green Country. This is a large undertaking and many hours of
work are required to pull this all together before the coaches meeting on Aug
12th so players can be notified and teams start practice and
uniforms ordered by the teams. As you
can understand the timeframe to get all this done is small so please help and
appreciate your registrar Mandy Miles as she meets the dates and deadlines.
Coaches Meeting Aug 12th! Coaches, please plan on Joining OSC at the
Bailey Golf Ranch club House from 6:30pm to 8:30 on Monday, Aug 12th
for a short pre-season meeting and to pick up your coaches packets/rosters. See the website for more on the meeting. We have some cool stuff again for the coaches
and we will be having a raffle again to win these items!
There is a lot going on at your club and the below
information is an overview of items your need to know. We have many projects in the works, and if
you want to know more just send an email or attend our monthly board meeting on
Tuesday Aug 13th at 7pm, feel free to email email@example.com.
Currently OSC needs to fill two Board Positions: 2VP and Treasurer
2nd Vice President Role is open and this position
is responsible to the overall field maintenance program and overseeing the
facilities. This includes our current
contractors that manage the Complex/Fields and turf with related improvements
OSC is looking to complete. Please email
if you would like to talk further about this position.
Our current Treasurer is Kirstin Clark and she wants to
focus her time this next year on her schooling and Job, along with her expanded
family needs. If you have experience in
Book keeping with Quick Books and want to help a great organization, please
send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
and we can set a time to meet.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Shop Day Aug 24th!! Parents/Coaches please make sure you plan to
visit OSC at Dicks on OSC’s shop day at 71st and Mingo to take advantage
of some great savings. The shop day
hours are 11am to 4pm and we will be posting coupons online and links to print
them from your home printer (we will have coupons as well at Dicks on the
August 24th). This is an
important event for OSC as our club gets money donated back based on the number
of shoppers and the total we spend as a club.
The first year we earned $1000.00 and the second year we dropped down to
$265.00 for our fund raiser with Dicks.
Please remember you can save up to 20% with the coupons! We will have the coupons posted online this
coming week for this upcoming OSC Shop day!
website update and feedback!
We have a new website and it is online and
updated every week with more useful information for everyone with more
functionality. OSC will have 3-4 administrators
being able to update the dynamic events to keep everyone informed more
frequently. OSC would like to kindly thank
Mike Wilder for all his help and efforts on the previous OSC Site over the last
few years. We need parent input to
making the new site as functional as it can be, so please an email to
email@example.com or post on OSC’s Facebook page for things you would
like to see.
Projects going on at OSC:
Our Tree Program is still in high gear and we are looking
for your support. We have approx. 26
Trees planted in the first 10 months of this program. This Tree program is an OSC initiative and
all your support is needed. If you or
your team would like to sponsor a tree, we are looking for Teams, families,
groups that would like to help beautify the sports park we would enjoy meeting/talking
with you. The trees being planted in
this program are 15 foot tall shade trees and/or Juniper Ever-greens for wind
breaks. The cost is $225 per tree and
this includes the planting of the tree/landscaping/staking and a plaque with up
to 3 lines to say who the tree is dedicated.
Note: We are very thrilled to have
a tree nursery in Oklahoma City donate 20 trees to help in this project and this
will put us at 46 trees with an overall goal of 70 trees to be planted at the
sports park! This donation is not
without our labor or help though, we need T-Posts, Mulch , Gator-bags and an
auger on a bobcat to dig holes.
Email: firstname.lastname@example.org if you can
help in anyway.
Our concession stand is being upgraded to sell hot food
items (Hotdogs, and Nachos) for the fall season if all goes as planned. We are looking for licensed contractors for
some small modifications to the concession facility. Please send your email to email@example.com
, for more information.
OSC has approved the funds to continue our irrigation projects
of the west practice fields and this is just phase one of irrigation for the
west side. Watch for more information
as this project expands.
Our upcoming pre-season field work day is Aug 24th
from 9am to 1pm. We need help getting
items ready for the fall season kick-off on Sep 7th and all teams
need to send at least one set of parents out to help, but the more the faster
we get done. If your child is on a
scholarship you must come out and help for 2-3 hours on work day.
We need help with filling in some low spots on the west side
practice fields where the irrigation work was completed, minor painting jobs,
we need someone with a cutting torch and/or sawzall to cut-up old bleachers and
hauled away for scrap metal and disposal.
There will be a complete list of items to be completed for the work day
and all help is needed.
Vandalism is an ongoing issue at the sports park and we are
working with the Owasso Police Dept. and the City Parks director to find ways
to protect your fields and facility from being trashed for all the players in
the club. Your OSC board works very hard
to make our Soccer fields the best in the area and a safe place for all the
kids playing there. We need your support
and ideas so we do not waste our membership money and the city needs to know
how your board and soccer club want this to be the best youth sport facility
for many years to come.
Sincerely and see you at the fields!
